The exhibition, which presents the first comprehensive presentation of Lajos Erdélyi’s oeuvre will be opened by writer György Dragomán.
The exhibition The Tactless Photojournalist: Lajos Erdélyi’s Archive from the Ceaușescu Era presents, for the first time, a comprehensive overview of the hitherto little-known work of Transylvanian photojournalist, journalist, and savior of archives Lajos Erdélyi. It evokes the raw reality of Ceaușescu’s Romania through the lens of an artist who managed to document his time with an autonomous vision—even within the confines of official mandates.
