Finissage event of the exhibition “Basalt. The Layers of Oblivion” with a curatorial guided tour and a “living library event” with one of the protagonists of the original history.

The exhibition Basalt. The Layers of Oblivion will conclude with a special event featuring a conversation with István Mejlinger Sr. As a child, Mejlinger bravely risked punishment to smuggle food into the prison camp for an imprisoned writer, often sharing his own meager rations.

At 4:00 PM, curator Iván Székely will give a guided tour, revealing behind-the-scenes stories of the exhibition's research and the creation of its sound installation. Filmmaker Zsuzsa Debre will also discuss the making of her documentary portrait.
