Making the Cut
Based on the “National Textbook” Project by Zsolt Keserue
KESERUE Zsolt
What does a French, Romanian, or Argentinian high school student learn about the Conquest of Hungary, the Hungarian Revolution and War of Independence in ‘48, or ‘56? What is important to whom about these events and why?
The workshop focuses on key moments in Hungarian history—as they are taught abroad. It is the result of a collaboration between the OSA Archives and artist Zsolt Keserue. The workshop is based on the “National Textbook” project, first presented in the framework of OFF-Biennale Budapest in 2015, and later in 2019 at MODEM in Debrecen.
The workshop uses original resources collected in the context of this project. The session will be accompanied by a joint critical reflection and comparative interpretation with the help of András Mink, historian of the OSA Archives.
The program is in Hungarian.
The workshops are available upon registration, free of charge.
