POLARCH / KAPITÁNY Éva

Photo documents of the exhumation of Imre Nagy and his comrades in March-April 1989 in plot 301.

Éva Kapitány was one of the few people who could be present at the exhumation of Imre Nagy and his comrades in March-April 1989 in plot 301. Thanks to the support of the bereaved families, Éva Kapitány was able to document the exhumation process firsthand. In her photographs, she captured the excavation, which took place between March 29 and April 5, 1989, with dramatic power, yet sensitivity and tact. The 15 images are all vintage photographs enlarged in 1990. It is a rare opportunity to see these wonderful paper images of museum value.

The exhibition is free to visit in the first-floor gallery of Blinken OSA.

The exhibition is open every day except Monday from 10:00 to 18:00 until 30 June.
