The two-day workshop will provide high school and university students with the opportunity to learn about the basics of 21st century journalism, the importance of press freedom and independent media.

With the help of four practicing journalism mentors, they will gain an insight into the basics of video journalism, learn the mastery of data visualization and data journalism, and get a hands-on experience of newspaper editing.

After learning the main pillars of journalism, the aim of the program is to set up a practicing student editorial team, where students can brainstorm and come up with a newspaper design. The newly formed editorial team, based on the design already developed, will produce a finished issue by March 14.

One of the reasons for the workshop is that on March 142018, Blinken OSA will host the European Press Prize, one of the most prestigious press awards in Europe.

Workshop participants will be invited to the European Press Prize Awards Ceremony on March 14 and to the Masterclass in English organized by the European Press Prize on the same day from 2 p.m.
